Introduction to Implant Restorations

This workshop is open to Ahpra registered dentists.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This hands-on program will provide comprehensive training in the restoration of single implants. It will comprise of evidence-based lectures and practical components, covering fundamental principles and procedures involved in the restoration of a single unit implant.

The course will cover:

- Implant componentry
- Assessment and treatment planning
- Implant risk assessment
- Implant occlusion
- Prosthesis design, abutment selection, and material considerations
- Implant crown delivery
- Common complications with implant restorations

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Gain proficiency in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for single implant restorations
  • How to communicate with your laboratory
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both analogue (conventional) and digital workflows to restore a single dental implant
  • Be able to design implant prosthesis (including abutment selection)
  • Be able to communicate prosthesis design details with the dental laboratory
  • Understand the role implant emergence profiles have on peri-implantitis

PRESENTER BIOGRAPHY

Dr Justin Le

BDSc(Hons)(Qld), DClinDent(Pros)(Qld), FAANZP, MRACDS(Pros), MRACDS(PDS)


Dr Justin Le is a prosthodontist with an interest in aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry. He completed his undergraduate dental degree in 2017 at The University of Queensland. After several years in general practice, he returned to his alma mater to undertake specialist training in Prosthodontics.

Justin practices at Specialist Prosthodontics in Upper Mount Gravatt as part of a large multidisciplinary specialist team. His clinical practice encompasses the full scope of prosthodontics, including removable, fixed, and implant prosthodontics. He is a member of several esteemed professional organisations, including the Australian Prosthodontic Society, the International Team for Implantology, and the International College of Prosthodontists.

In addition to private practice, Justin holds a teaching position at The University of Queensland as a preclinical and clinical supervisor. He also serves on the general committee of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (Queensland branch).
