EVENT overview

The Queensland branch of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (APSQ) is an affiliate study club of the ADA. APSQ are offering limited places for ADA/Q Members to join them for this upcoming event. 

Enjoy a 3 course lunch while listening and interacting with Dr Charles Goodacre and Frank Golding, live from the USA. A blend of prosthodontics, business acumen, and technical finesse will deliver a unique and enjoyable experience that will enlighten all aspects of your professional practice.

FLIP (Future Leaders in Prosthodontics) is an organisation which assists young prosthodontists to develop the leadership and mentoring skills needed in specialist practice. FLIP workshops have been held in the USA, UK, Thailand and South Africa with additional workshops planned for France and Canada in 2022. The APSQ thanks FLIP for its generous support of our two speakers.

Dr Charles Goodacre (live from California)
Which type of all-ceramic crown will produce the best aesthetic result?
Today, both zirconia and lithium disilicate are popular choices for making all-ceramic crowns. Charles discusses the advantages and limitations of these materials using an extensive array of clinical patient treatments to illustrate situations best suited for each material.

Dr Charles Goodacre is possibly the most recognisable name in international prosthodontic practice. Holding an incredible number of prestigious awards from esteemed educational and professional organisations across the globe, Charles has made over 500 invited presentations and published over 100 refereed articles along with several contributions to textbooks. Two of his publications are listed as the most cited articles in prosthodontics.

Charles served as Chair of the Department of Prosthodontics at Indiana University and as Dean of the Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry (1994 - 2013). He currently teaches in the Advanced Education Program in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University and is a Distinguished Professor at that institution. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Past-President of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Past-President of the American College of Prosthodontists, and Past-President of the Academy of Prosthodontics. He served as a Founding Member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation (FOR), and chaired the FOR Education Council. In 2015, Charles was awarded a Distinguished Professorship at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, and in 2019 he received the William J Gies award from the American College of Dentists for leadership & professionalism.

Frank Golding (live from New York)
What does it mean to chase excellence and what are the benefits of the journey?
Frank is a former Director at Google, where he worked on product, sponsorship and creative strategies for this global company. He joined Google as YouTube's Director, Head of Sport in North America, creating sports partnerships for leagues, teams and athletes – across professional, college and high school sports – to help them connect more deeply to YouTube’s one billion monthly users. Prior to YouTube, Frank spent nearly nine years at ESPN working on digital deals across all ESPN’s US content platforms. He has extensive negotiation and deal experience with engineering and technology teams. Frank holds a JD from UVa and an MBA from MIT.
