COURSE OVERVIEW

With a specialist in Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics and Special Needs each presenting on shared case examples you will take away ideas how to focus the management of a treatment plan.

  • Learn how to optimize patient-centred treatment outcomes through customizing the periodontal treatment plan. 

PRESENTER BIOGRAPHY

Dr Elizabeth Milford
BDSc MBA

Dr Elizabeth Milford is both a lecturer at the University of Melbourne and the La Trobe University in clinical communication and ethics, as well as a national speaker. She is an experienced consultant in dental regulatory compliance, working as an auditor and educator approved by the Dental Board of Australia in Victoria and other jurisdictions. She is the Professional and Academic Relations Consultant for Oral-B to Australia and New Zealand and brings with her a passion for prevention and evidence-based dentistry. 


Dr Matthew Nangle
BSc PhD BDSc FRSB

Dr Matthew Nangle is a general dentist working in private practice in Brisbane’s inner suburbs. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the UQ School of Dentistry, where he is the BDSc(Hons) Phase 1 Program Coordinator and External Engagement Coordinator. Matthew also holds an Honours degree in Neuroscience and PhD in Biomedical Sciences. He is the Oral Health Lead for the Queensland Multidisciplinary Initiative for Neurocognitive Disorders, with specific interest in links between oral health and dementia, as well as in people with multiple sclerosis.

A/Prof Michael Lewis
BDS (Hons) DClinDent (Pros) MRACDS (Pros) FPFA

Dr. Michael Lewis registered as a general dentist in 2003 graduating with honours and completed his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics at the University of Sydney in 2010. In 2010 he passed the MRACDS for the Royal Australasian College of Dentists by examination. He is the proud recipient of the John H Wilson prize for Proficiency in Prosthodontics and the Campbell Harry Graham prize in Prosthetic Dentistry. He has special interests in interdisciplinary care, microscope dentistry and digital dentistry. In 2013 Michael relocated to Queensland, where he works in full time private practice. He is a proud father of two girls and enjoys cooking and acting.

Dr Kaye Kendall
BDSc MDSc FADI FDI

Dr. Kendall graduated from dentistry at University of Western Australia in 1984 going on to practice as a general dentist until 1997. Kaye decided to continue her expertise by specialising, undertaking her training in Periodontics at the University of Queensland. She has lectured both undergraduate and postgraduates at the University of Queensland, been appointed as an external examiner in Periodontics in Australia and New Zealand whilst maintaining a private specialist practice in Periodontics and Dental Implants. Involvement within the profession and a continuing of education is a priority to Dr. Kendall. Kaye is an active member of the Australian Society of Periodontology, ANZAP, Australian Osseointegration Society, the ADA (Australian Dental Association) and a member of ITI (International Team for Implantology) and a fellow at the International College of Dentists (FICD).


Dr Jeff Hislop
BDScMDSc FRACDS FICD

Dr Hislop graduated from the University of Queensland in 1983.
After graduating he worked at the Brisbane Dental Hospital, where he developed his interest in the endodontics branch of dentistry. Subsequently, Jeff received a Master’s Degree, as well as a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, and began lecturing at the Griffith University Dental School. Jeff continues to teach at both Queensland and Griffith Universities and has been appointed to the Clinical Accreditation Board at Griffith University.


Ms Larissa Alderton
BoralH, MHM - ADAQ Compliance, Advice and Policy - Senior Advisor

Larissa graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Oral Health Therapy and Master of Health Management, with a focus on health care law and ethics and research. Larissa has worked in the dental profession since 2004 with experience in private practice, the University sector and the NHS in the United Kingdom. Larissa’s academic background and clinical experience puts her in an ideal position to assist ADAQ members with patient complaints, health fund audits, regulatory notification and insurance queries.
