COURSE OVERVIEW 

This event is ideal for final year dental students who are due to graduate in 2021. You will learn more about how and when to start all the important documentation you need to complete to become a practising dental professional. Topics include:

  1. AHPRA registration process
  2. Medicare provider numbers
  3. Insurance requirements
  4. Licensing requirements 

Following this short session, you’ll hear from a panel of experts on how to prepare for jobs interviews. The panel will give you their tips and tricks from their personal experiences in finding jobs, interviewing and recruiting.

Presenter biography

Dr Norah Ayad
BDSc

Dr Norah Ayad graduated dentistry at the University of Queensland in 2012 with awards in Paediatric dentistry and the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Undergraduate Award. She works in private practice on the Gold Coast where she operates as a dentist and practice owner. She has served on ADAQ Council since 2016 as the Gold Coast regional representative and has been involved in ADAQ Committees including the RG&S Committee, Oral Health Committee, Dental Practice Committee and Marketing & Membership Committee. She is also the ADAQ Gold Coast sub-branch president and has been since 2015. Norah is a passionate advocate for oral health promotion in the community, supporting young dental professionals in their careers and engaging with a range of health professionals to ensure best possible patient care.

Dr Malak Fouda
BDSc

Malak graduated from the University of Queensland in 2018. Since then she has been working in private practice in Ipswich. Malak has been involved in ADAQ since she was a student and is currently convenor of the 2020 recent graduates and students committee. Malak has conducted webinars for ADAQ and articles for the Dental Mirror. Alongside this, she is on the CPD and DPC committees at ADAQ. She is currently working with ADA and ADC on new projects to help recent graduates. She enjoys working with students and recent graduates to make their transition from university to work as smoothly as possible. 

Dr Trent Davidson
BDSc (Hons)

Dr Trent Davidson graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 with first class honours. He is the principal dentist at Northside Dental Solutions, a dental practice on the northside of Brisbane focused on helping people overcome their fear of the dentist. After graduating, Trent struggled to find a practice that suited him. He eventually found a practice on the Sunshine Coast that aligned with his ethos. It is here where Trent developed the passion for making visiting the dentist as easy as possible. Outside of the office, Trent has lectured as part of Pacific Smiles Group Graduate program on communication and mitigating risk. Trent is currently studying a Graduate Diploma of Psychology through the University of Adelaide.

Dr Lingaiah Dronavalli
Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science, Graduate Diploma of Dentistry

Dr Lingaiah Dronavalli graduated dentistry in 2010 from Griffith university and worked as an associate throughout south east Queensland learning both clinical and business skills from excellent industry mentors. He and his wife purchased their first practice in 2017 and over the past 4 years turned into a successful two chair practice. His attitude and investment in technology has allowed him to expand to second location in a competitive environment with great success. Communication in dentistry is Dr Dronvalli's passion and he believes it to be the key to success and safe practice and is his greatest strength. His practices focus on digital dentistry, oral surgery and full mouth rehabilitation giving his patients great outcomes and making dentistry exciting. Dr Dronavalli finds the most rewarding part of dentistry is seeing his team succeed and loves mentoring younger clinicians to reach their full potential.
