Course Overview

Session 1 - Fixed Pros Clinical Case Studies
This  lecture  will focus on the day-to-day treatment planning workflow for high-end aesthetic prosthetics as viewed through the lens of a dual-certified prosthodontist and laboratory technician. Specific topics will include photographic documentation for collaboration with colleagues and shade communication with the laboratory, final impression techniques, provisionalization, , preparation design, material selection, delivery and cementation and follow-up care of various real-world cases ranging from the single-central incisor and multi-unit bridge to full-mouth fixed hybrids and removable overdentures.

This course aims to re-establish the love affair with the world of removable dental prosthetics, which are often much maligned due to the perception that dentures are difficult, unappealing to patients, and have thin profit margins. Much of what students have learned during their dental school education about treating the edentulous patient is flawed, and based on outdated, dogmatic principles. This course will go through several real-world case studies and outline the low-cost materials and easy to follow techniques necessary for treatment planning conventional, immediate, and implant overdentures with efficacious, predictable, and profitable outcomes.

Session 2 : Exposed: The Art and Science of Emotive Clinical Photography

Dental photography serves as an effective tool for communication with colleagues, and as an emotional means of marketing to patients and clients regarding our clinical services and laboratory products.
