Course Overview

In this course you will learn how your clinic can get started with screening and treating patients with sleep breathing disorders. Gain the confidence you need to introduce this as a treatment option to your patients after this 1-hour seminar.

Presenter biography

Dr James Di Pasquale


Since 2001 Dr Di Pasquale has been active in adult and paediatric sleep medicine in Australia and the UK. He co-founded the Imperial College Centre for Sleep Science and Medicine and has served as an NHS Consultant at St Mary’s Hospital Paddington for the past 15 years. In 2017 he founded the UK’s first independent paediatric sleep laboratory to improve accessibility to sleep services for both public and private patients.

Dr Di Pasquale earned his PhD in sleep medicine at Imperial College London under the supervision of Professor Colin Sullivan (inventor of CPAP therapy, Sydney). His academic work focuses on the interactions between sleep-disordered breathing and allergic diseases and asthma in children, with a special focus on novel methods to non-invasively measure disease progression at home.  

His clinical work focuses on early diagnosis and effective treatment for snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. He has analysed and reported more than 20,000 adult and paediatric sleep studies. 

 
Dr Karina Patel

Dr. Patel qualified as a Dentist at Kings College London, UK. She then further developed in the UK, USA, UAE and Australia. 
Special interest in Craniofacial pain and Sleep disordered breathing.
Was director of TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centres London, Devon and Dubai for a span of 10 years. She developed the pathway for the screening, diagnosis and treatment of patients at the London sleep centre where she was able to help find the most efficient patient pathways with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and allied health professionals. She has treated over 5000 patients with sleep breathing disorders and/ or in chronic pain. 


Sarah Beach

Sarah Beach is an Oral Health Therapist (UQ), who also holds a BHSc in Public Health (QUT), and a BA in Communication & Media Management (UniSA). 

Sarah has worked clinically for more than 25 years in dental practices across Australia, Switzerland and Singapore.
