Hands-On Advanced Interrogation of Cone Beam CT Scans

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will equip participants with practical expertise and advanced interrogation skills required to accurately analyse cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans. Through focused hands-on training and case-based learning, the course will enable participants to confidently manipulate software to create the correct multiplanar reconstructions to appropriately evaluate the structures of interest for many clinical situations.

  • Indications for prescribing CBCT vs. Other modalities
  • What radiation doses are our patients receiving
  • How to correctly view the data set with MPR
  • The difference between image interrogation and interpretation
  • Introduction to AI in dental radiology
  • Afternoon Hands-On CBCT Interrogation workshop

learning objectives

  • Know the indications for prescribing CBCT vs. Other modalities
  • Correctly view the data set with MPR
  • Identify the presence of periapical lesions
  • Determine the morphology and lengths of roots and the canals
  • Correctly identify number of roots of an impacted tooth and its morphology
  • Optimal interrogation of implant sites and identification of important adjacent anatomy
  • Identify the periodontal bone levels and if there are bony furcation and perio/endo involvements
  • How to evaluate if dental radiology AI is right for your practice
