ON DEMAND: Pain Management in Paediatric Dentistry

ON DEMAND: Pain Management in Paediatric Dentistry
The Pain Assessment and Management in Paediatric Dentistry course is available ON DEMAND and is suitable for either the Dentist or the Clinical Team who may assist with the treatment of paediatric patients.

course overview

Pain Assessment and Management in Paediatric Dentistry provides effective pain assessments and management strategies for dental professionals when dealing with children in pain.

Pain is highly complex, dynamic and subjective experience, and consequently not directly accessible by others. It could be difficult when assessing pain of young children who may have limited verbal abilities to describe or report their pain. Although while growing up children usually learn effective methods to prevent and to cope with everyday pain, untreated pain may have significant lifelong physiological and psychological consequences.

Paediatric dentist or not, you need to follow some basic steps when you are the dentist attending a child in pain. Effective dental pain assessments and management are crucial when dealing with children. Only does controlled pain improve the child’s comfort and reduce stress, it also improves other areas of their general health, including their psychological and physical function. It also secures success for the dentist by providing a pleasant dental visit to the child.
