Dr Norah Ayad, ADAQ President
BDSc

Dr Norah Ayad graduated dentistry at the University of Queensland in 2012 with awards in Paeditaric dentistry and the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Undergradute Award. She works in private practice on the Gold Coast where she operates as a dentist and practice owner. She has served on ADAQ Council since 2016 as the Gold Coast regional representative and has been involved in ADAQ Committees including the RG&S Committee, Oral Health Committee, Dental Practice Committee and Marketing & Membership Committee. She is also the ADAQ Gold Coast sub-branch president and has been since 2015. Norah is a passionate advocate for oral health promotion in the community, supporting young dental professionals in their careers and engaging with a range of health professionals to ensure best possible patient care.


A/Prof Alex Forrest AO, ADAQ Senior Vice President
Alex is well recognised for his expertise in Human Anatomy, Forensic Odontology, Human Forensic Identification, including 3-D technologies and Bite Mark Analysis. He is currently Honorary Associate Professor for the School of Dentistry with University of Queensland, Adjunct Associate Professor of Forensic Odontology with Griffith University, and Director of Forensic Odontology at Health Support Queensland Forensic and Scientific Services. 
Alex also convenes the annual Disaster Victim Identification course for ADAQ.

 



Dr Adrian Frick, ADAQ Immediate Past President
Dr Adrian Frick graduated from The University of Queensland with a BDSc in 1993. With extensive experience in public and private dental health sectors, Adrian makes a strong advocate for ADA Membership, recognising that our profession needs to be united under one voice to enhance outcomes for dentists and patients, government agencies, health funds and overseas associations. Adrian understands the pressures experienced by government dentists, the challenges for healthcare workers in remote areas, the intricacies of indigenous health, and the challenges faced by employee dentists in private practice, and practice owners.



Mr Manuel Garcia, ADAQ Skills-based Councillor (Finance)
Manuel is a banking and finance professional with extensive experience working across all areas of banking both here in Australia and overseas.  Having spent over 20 years with NAB, Manuel spent 13 years as CEO of innovative payments company Indue during a time when the payment’s industry was undergoing significant reform and change.  Manuel has a keen interest in financial markets, risk management, governance and change management. Manuel joined ADAQ this year and his committee work for ADAQ includes Chairing both the Audit and Risk Committee and the Asset Management Committee.
