Course overview
Miscommunication and conflict are often the result of habitually poor communication. Purposeful communication focuses on the skills required to effectively listen, understand and express ideas. This workshop will assist participants in refining and building their communication repertoire.
Learning Objectives
This course will cover:
- Perception vs facts
- Intent when communicating
- Language – cleaning up bad habits and why “why” doesn’t work
- Using the power of linguistics
- How to formulate effective questions
- Having difficult conversations with positive outcomes
Presenter biography
Susan Long
Susan Long is a Toowoomba based psychologist specialising in providing care and therapy. Susan has a sensitive, positive and proactive approach to people’s needs and you will find her warm, welcoming and easy to talk with.
Susan has formal qualifications both at a graduate and postgraduate level from Charles Sturt University, Melbourne University and Monash University combined with a broad range of experience in providing psychology services within organisations and the community.
