Presenter biography

Dr Neil Savage
BDSc (Qld), MDSc (Qld), PhD (Qld), FICD, FFOP (RCPA)

Neil has recently retired from dentistry. 
 
When Neil was practising he covered all aspects of oral medicine. Special interests include mucocutaneous diseases and use of steroidal medications, soft tissue lesions both medical and surgical management and orofacial dysaesthesias.

He has held a long-term consultancy in oral medicine and oral pathology at the Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital and oral pathology histopathology reporting with QML Pathology Laboratories. As a long-term academic at the University of Queensland, he assumed responsibility for the disciplines of oral pathology and oral medicine at undergraduate and post-graduate specialist training levels.

Neil is a contributing author to two editions of the Therapeutic Guidelines, Oral and Dental with a focus on steroidal medications. He is a foundation Fellow of the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia and Fellow of the Faculty of Oral Pathology with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.

Ms Susan Long

Susan Long is an experienced psychologist and the Clinical Director of Workplace Wellness Australia. Susan has formal qualifications both at a graduate and postgraduate level from Charles Sturt University, Melbourne University and Monash University combined with a broad range of experience in providing psychology services within organisations and the community.

Workplace Wellness Australia is a vibrant provider of Workplace Wellness Programs including employee assistance counselling, informative resources, wellbeing workshops and other organisational support services to companies and organisations throughout Australia. Workplace Wellness takes a supportive, positive and proactive approach in how they provide wellbeing programs and support for your employees and members to assist them to achieve a positive sense of health and wellbeing in both their personal and professional lives.

Ms Larissa Alderton
BoralH, MHM, ADAQ Compliance & Advisory Services Manager

Larissa graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Oral Health Therapy and Master of Health Management, with a focus on health care law and ethics and research. Larissa has worked in the dental profession since 2004 with experience in private practice, the University sector and the NHS in the United Kingdom. Larissa’s academic background and clinical experience puts her in an ideal position to assist ADAQ members with patient complaints, health fund audits, regulatory notification and insurance queries.
